Pink Parcel Period Talk: Tiff, Content & Creative Manager

This week’s period talk is from Tiff, our Senior Content and Creative Manager.

What’s your period craving?

“Fox’s chunkie chocolate chip cookies – and it’s important that it’s that precise cookie! My non-edible craving is baggy jumpers.”

I know my period is coming when…

“My boobs blow up and I feel my ovary twinge. I’m 90% sure I know which ovary is releasing an egg. Strange, but kinda cool.”

Tell us about your first period…

“It wasn’t too mental. I was 12 years old and I remember getting ready to go to Thorpe Park with my friends. I popped to the loo as my knickers felt a bit soggy and when I looked down I knew straight away I had started my period, even though there wasn’t bright red blood. Growing up, my mum had always been very open about bodies and what to look out for as I hit puberty – I ran straight into her room and jumped up and down shouting that I thought I had started my period!”

Tell us a period cringe

“I was shopping with my mum in a busy shopping center, wearing a knee-length, boho, floaty skirt. I remember I coughed and felt a whoosh of something warm running down my leg. As I ran to the toilets it was creeping past my knee. I was mortified.”

Your favorite thing to do when you have your period is…

“Chill-out and indulge. I feel fat, spotty and fugly, so I just give into it. The first couple of days are the worst, then after the initial bloat goes down, I actually think the gym helps a lot with cramps.”
