This week’s period talk is from Laura, Head of PR and Social.

What’s your period craving?

“I don’t think I have a particular craving but I probably use my time of the month to drink more wine and eat more food than usual!”

I know my period is coming when…

“I get grumpy, feel fat and have spots (I thought you were supposed to stop getting spots after your 20s?!)”

Tell us about your first period…

“I started young, the last year of primary school, so felt like the odd one out because no one else had started. I obviously had nothing with me and the school toilets didn’t have sanitary bins. I got home, threw my underwear in the bin and wrote my mum a note asking her to buy me some pads. I continued writing notes to her well into secondary school…”

Tell us a period cringe (we’ve all got one, hey)

“Pretty sure I’ve got a few but staying over at a friend’s house when I was about 12 and leaking all over the bed sheets was pretty cringe at the time, and actually, just the size of the pads I used to wear, they were more like nappies!”

Your favorite thing to do when you have your period is…

“Nothing, because I’m grumpy, feel fat and have spots. I would prefer to be in the house, eating and drinking but if I had to do anything, I would probably exercise to make myself feel slightly better.”
