The Ultimate Health Booster: Pomegranate Lassi With Chili Powder
If you’re yet to fall in love with lassis – the sweet or savory creamy yogurt drinks from India – you’re about to with this health-boosting and super-lush pomegranate lassi recipe.
Considered a symbol of life in many cultures due to the scores of jewel-like seeds contained inside the tough skin, pomegranate is used extensively in Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine. It imparts an earthy, sweet and sour flavour into drinks.
And they’re super-healthy too. Pomegranates are packed with anti-viral, anti-tumor and anti-oxidant properties (three times as much as there is in green tea, FYI). They’re also a good source of folic acid, vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin E.
Pomegranates are great for clearing up the skin during a pre-menstrual break-out or for reducing skin inflammation when you’ve got your period. They also promote healthy blood circulation and supply iron to the blood so excellent if you suffer with heavy periods.
When shopping, look for fruits with shiny, unblemished skins and avoid any that have soft patches. A pomegranate that is heavy for its size will yield the most juice.
