Pink Parcel People: Kate, Photographer
Each week we’ll be bringing you an insight into the people behind Pink Parcel. This week, we speak to our photographer, Kate.
What do you do at Pink?
I create digital content for social media channels & Pink Parcel website.
What’s the best bit of your job?
UNBOXING! I love receiving the new monthly products to shoot – it’s like Christmas!
What’s the trickiest thing?
Leaving the PP HQ without a bag full of treats… (I didn’t take anything I swear!)
Tell us about an achievement that stands out during your time at the company…
The Pink Parcel Partner event was fab to photograph. It was great to meet the partners and the location was beautiful.
What’s the favourite product you’ve discovered through your monthly box?
Most definitely the PapayaGold Paw Paw Moisturising Balm from the March box! As a girl with constant chapped lips it is a life saver.
On Fridays at PP HQ we have team pizzas. What’s your favourite topping?
Tomato & garlic. Plain & simple.
How did you get your job?
I started my career in London as a Fashion stylist for Threads Styling. Shortly after beginning this role I decided that I wanted to put my photography skills to better use. Fortunately I was able to do this within the company I was working for and shot original content for their website & social channels. After three years of high fashion & amazing opportunities I decided to go freelance to experience other genres such as lifestyle, food & interior photography as well as my true love – fashion.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to follow your career path?
Be a ‘yes’ person. If you start your career with an internship or junior role, ensure that you are helpful, switched on, positive & be prepared to take on any job thrown at you!
The world of photography (and fashion!) can be tough so always remember to be yourself & don’t be afraid or ashamed of your own ideas & creativity.
