This Period Rap Is The Perfect Anthem For Your Monthly Flow

Ever found yourself in an awkward situation where someone is offended by your period chat?

There’s now a song for that.

Thanks to Australian comedy group Skit Box you can flip the finger through the medium of rap at anyone who thinks talking about the emptying of your uterus is gross.

period-rap

It’s the perfect homage to PMS-induced shopping sprees, carb cravings, ruined underwear, cramps and that sexy monthly bloat with genius lyrics like “I’m leaking placenta, so I hit that shopping centre” and “I can’t go on that first date, because I am dripping ovulate”.

Flow

From dancing men dressed head-to-toe in sanitary towels and women stress-eating chocolate to informative graphics about what periods are actually made of, Sarah Bishop, Gerta Jerkson and Adele Vuko are putting the message out there that periods are nothing to be afraid of. Obvs.

“Can’t handle the natural blood I leak, but you watch violent UFC,” chants Bishop.

“If you think me talking about my flow is wrong, well that’s the whole reason why we wrote this song, it’s here and it’s gonna make our vaginas looks like that corridor from The Shining.”

You tell ’em, girls.

I Got That Flow

The trio said they wrote the rap as they were fed up of the stereotype that female comedians only joke about periods.

“We decided to confront that stigma head-on by dedicating a whole rap song to cover every aspect of the issue. We first premiered it at our live show – we would end it by saying ‘wow, as female comedians we managed to get through a whole show without one period joke’ – then we would launch into this song,” they told The Daily Mail Australia.

So if you need to give some grossed out men a lesson on “that flow”, we suggest you play this loud and proud. It’s actually pretty catchy…
