Pink Parcel Period Talk: Dani, Marketing Assistant

Wouldn’t it be easier if we were all more open about the perfectly normal bodily function we experience each month? We think so. Each week a member of our very own #PPSquad will be sharing her period stories with you. Read, comment, share your own. Every story is welcome here.

This week’s period talk is from Dani, our Marketing Assistant.

Dani

What’s your period craving?

As generic as it is, chocolate. I’m not usually fussed about it but a few days before I come on I can’t get enough of it!

I know my period is coming when…

My brain turns into absolute sludge. Having to make any form of decision is a stressful, nerve wracking experience – even if it’s trying to pick a sandwich for my meal deal…

Tell us about your first period…

I was in Year 8 and my (highly dramatic) best friend has just started her period. The next day she came in and was telling us all about it in very graphic detail, which horrified and terrified me. After hearing of her ‘ordeal’ I was praying I had a few more years before it was going come, but a week later it arrived with no warning. I remember going home to tell my mum and she just handed me a tampon and said: “Learn… it will make life a lot easier”.

Tell us a period cringe (we’ve all got one, hey…)

I was on a busy tube escalator when my bag got knocked off my shoulder and the contents of it went flying! I was frantically trying to get everything back inside when I watched my batch of tampons get kicked down from the top to the bottom…

Your favourite thing to do when you have your period is…

Eat! Anything and everything.

If you haven’t signed up to Pink Parcel yet, it’s time to start enjoying your period! Subscribe here and you’ll have everything you need (and want) sent directly to your door.
