#BathroomGoals: 10 Easy Ideas To Transform Your Space

Washing, beautifying, relaxing – it’s where the magic happens. But what if your bathroom is a little more blah than spa? Then try these easy, inexpensive ideas to transform your space into a little splash sanctuary.

Switch up your shower curtain

Not only is it hygienic to change your shower curtain when it starts to get skanky, a cool design can breathe life to a boring bathroom. Look for tropical palm prints, boho patterns and graphic shapes.

Maximise space

Not every bathroom has tons of cupboard storage, so you’re lacking space in a small bathroom, maximise your wall areas with ladder storage or mirror/shelf combos. Keep things minimal and tidy if your stuff is on show – why not pick out some cute containers to hold your pads and ‘pons?

Add freestanding furniture

Cute stools and side tables and might not be the obvious choice for a bathroom, but they totally work for balancing that tub-time glass of wine, stacks of towels or piles of mags. Mix and match for a eclectic look.

Wow with wallpaper

Make a statement in a small bathroom with bold, waterproof wallpaper in alcoves or on a single feature wall. This is a room where you can be brave with opulent prints or pops of colour to offset a boring sink or bath.

The Pink House

Co-ordinate your accessories

Going matchy-matchy with your loo brush holders, soap dishes and dispensers will pull the look of your bathroom together – choose marble, bamboo, pretty glassware or pastel coloured ceramics.

Make a focal point

Simple walls can be transformed with a hero piece – stylish hanging mirrors or a large, striking art print will do the job on neutral coloured tiles.

Throw down a mat

They’re not just for soaking up that slosh of water when you get out of the bath or shower, a cool bathmat adds a splash of interest on a plain floor. Think of it as a mini rug. Cosy on the toes too.

Go green

Have you noticed every inspiring insta-bathroom has tons of plant life? Turn your bathroom into a mini green house with fern, ivy and snake plants – they love the humid conditions of a bathroom and will thrive – or grow orchids for an at-home-spa feel.

Buy a bundle

You can’t beat a stack of new fluffy white towels for that hotel experience at home, but if you’re a mascara on the towel kinda girl (always!), stick to pale greys to hide smudges.

Feel floral

For a dreamy, country house vibe, blooms in the bathroom are a winner – even if you live miles from a field. Fill vases and place single stems on shelves – you can always pick fake flowers for an easy life.
