What Is A Cleansing Cloth And How Do I Use It?

The cleansing cloth is 2018’s beauty crush! Face wipes are undoubtedly bad for the environment – blocking sewers and polluting our waters, and they’re not that great for your face either; some of the chemicals pumped into cleansing wipes can strip your skin of all of its good stuff leaving it feeling dry and looking dull. In fact, there’s a revolution going on right now to wipe them out entirely.

According to WWF, here in the UK we’ve used over 10 billion wet wipes this year alone. And the cotton pads used to remove makeup aren’t much better either as they’re usually made of synthetic materials such as nylon and polyester – both not ideal for the environment.

But we also know that it’s a straight up sin to sleep in your make-up. It might seem like a chore, but removing the day for the sake of your skin is the most important thing you can do pre-bed. So what’s the solution? Well, probably a product that could shift all your make-up, including mascara, with just water, or a little of your regular cleanser.

What is a cleansing cloth?

Introducing the WipeOut Microfibre Cleansing Cloth by Magnitone, a magical, miracle cloth that will get rid of your make-up without harming the planet. The super-soft, double-sided cloth is made from very fine microfibre strands that grab all the bad oils and dirt from your skin while blasting bacteria.

First, you need to wash your cloth in the washing machine, so it’s fresh and ready to use. When it’s time to whip off your make-up, wet the cloth with warm water and start wiping away your make-up in gentle circular motions. When the fibres are wet, they swell up, grab onto particles and hold them, meaning you won’t end up with panda eyes.

How do you use a cleansing cloth?

As we’re fans of the double-cleansing technique, we suggest using a cleansing cream to remove any leftover dirt from your face. The Restore & Replenish Cleanser from natural skincare brand Balance Me, is both gentle to the skin and boosts collagen production.

When you’re done with your WipeOut cloth, put it in the washing machine at 30 degrees. We don’t recommend keeping the damp cloth in your make-up bag, as the microfibres can absorb dirt and then cause irritation on the skin. Dry well after washing and it’s ready to use again. Revolutionary, right?
