Pink Parcel Period Talk: Becky, Brand Manager

Wouldn’t it be easier if we were all more open about the perfectly normal bodily function we experience each month? We think so. Each week a member of our very own #PPSquad will be sharing her period stories with you. Read, comment, share your own. Every story is welcome here.

This week’s period talk is from Becky, our Brand Manager.

What’s your period craving?

"Everything! Can I say that? My period just makes me want to eat everything in the sight and hey, a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do."

I know my period is coming when…

"I start to feel quite grumpy and irritable – promise it's only then though! (Well, ok, most of the time.) I also always know it's coming because I have a dull stomach ache, it's not bad but it's a definite warning things are about to move..."

Tell us about your first period…

"It was actually quite unremarkable. I was 13, I was a little shocked but not too shocked as I knew it was coming. I think part of me felt quite relieved that I wouldn’t be the last in my class to start."

Tell us a period cringe (we’ve all got one, hey…)

"Yes. Oh god. My first period might have been unremarkable, but my second period definitely made its mark! After starting my first one, I didn’t have another one for a good six months but it decided to show up when I was on a flight to Disney World, Orlando. Having gone to the toilet half-way through the flight I was mortified to discover that I had not only just come on but it was all over my beige combat trousers (totally fashionable at the time, btw!) As a young girl this was the epitome of embarrassment! Thankfully I had a hoodie to tie around my waist so nobody could see the mess, but it's safe to say the next few hours on the flight weren’t my greatest."

Your favourite thing to do when you have your period is…

"Try and keep on as normal. Failing that, get sympathy from my boyfriend (thank you Maor!)"
