People Are Worried About Hillary Clinton’s Period

Since being elected in 2000 as the first female senator from New York, Hillary Clinton has achieved a lot. But apparently, for some voters, her uterus is kind of a deal breaker

Hillary Clinton

She has been a first lady, a US Senator and US Secretary of State. She’s helped negotiate a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in 2012. She’s championed LGBT rights in a country where people are still killed for being gay. She’s helped millions of American children access healthcare coverage, working with Republicans and Democrats to create the Children’s Health Insurance Program. Whatever your politics, this woman is werkin' hard in a traditonally male dominated sector.

And yet, all Carl Unger from Pennsylvania wanted to talk about when he wrote to his local paper last week was Hillary Clinton's period. Because, presumably, most American crises can be traced back to a pair of moody ovaries. Cuban Missiles Crisis? Actually caused by a chocolate shortage. The Korean War? Probably ran out of Ibuprofen.

The American voiced his concerns about the problems that could occur if the next POTUS happened to bleed from their vagina once a month. His main point was to warn people of the destruction that would ensue if the ruler of the country had the sniffles while she was on her period.

“They call us [Donald Trump supporters] sexist just because we are critical of Hillary Clinton and her health,” Unger wrote to the editor of the Williamsport Sun-Gazette “What if that time of month comes and she is sick at the same time?”

Aside from someone needing to have a ‘conversation’ with Carl about the fact that a 68-year-old lady is likely to have gone through the m-e-n-o-p-a-u-s-e and will not get periods anymore, we are mainly in awe that he thought it was OK to put this view in writing. What a guy.
